Ellie is co-owner and director of Enlighten, where she leads public-sector learning, adoption, and transformation work alongside Nick. She specialises in the unglamorous part of change — getting interventions to actually land with the people on the ground, under real operating pressure rather than in controlled conditions.

That instinct comes from twelve years as a Metropolitan Police detective, where she rose from constable to Detective Inspector — promoted at thirty whilst eight months pregnant with twins. She specialised in violence against women and girls, and before leaving policing in 2016 she set up and ran the disclosure team to the Undercover Policing Inquiry, one of the most scrutinised pieces of public-interest disclosure work in the country.

She has worked across six UK police forces on transformation, leadership development, change maturity assessment, and technology implementation, and has been at the leading edge of generative AI adoption in business operations and L&D — selected as a Lovable Community Ambassador in 2026, and is embedded in one of Europe's largest public-sector digital transformation programmes.

Between policing and Enlighten she has worked in legal technology and in refugee resettlement at Citizens UK — threads that still shape how she thinks about who change is actually for.

Ellie holds an MSc (distinction) in Police Leadership and Management from Warwick Business School, is a College of Policing High Potential Development Scheme graduate, and read Modern and Medieval Languages at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. She is also a qualified swimming teacher and open-water swimmer who in 2025 completed a ratified three-person relay of the English Channel in 14 hours and 14 minutes — the same appetite for hard, sustained effort she brings to the work.

Nick is a serial founder and organisational transformation specialist who has grown multiple businesses to seven figures across sectors and continents. He thinks in operating models, budget lines, and organisational structure, then makes the changes actually happen on the ground.

His career started in the public sector, where he led a comprehensive organisational review of an overstaffed specialist unit, delivered a workforce redesign that returned over 40 posts to frontline service delivery, and managed a multi-million-pound training budget through restructured processes and sharper accountability.

Nick built Enlighten into a leading police training and consultancy provider, managing complex multi-client projects with dozens of subcontractors and thousands of participants. When the pandemic hit, he led a 48-hour digital transformation of a 300-student training estate, proving that pace and quality aren't mutually exclusive when the operating environment is understood deeply enough.

Today he leads the development of Enlighten's associate network — the bedrock of how we deliver — building its quality, breadth, and ability to stay ahead of where clients are heading. He also holds the relationships with our longest-standing partners and clients, including one who has been with us since the very early days.

His particular strength is identifying where organisations are spending money and effort on things that aren't delivering results, then helping them redirect both towards what actually matters.

Nick read History at Cambridge and brings the analytical rigour of that training to every review he conducts, combined with the practical credibility of someone who has held senior roles in the organisations he now advises.
